In April 2022, Epic Games released The Matrix Awakens City Sample to all Unreal Engine 5 licensees. This is not a pre-compiled .exe demo you find on a storefront. It is a project file (roughly 90GB) designed for developers.

In 2023, Epic Games officially released the Unreal Engine 5.3 update, which included the "City Sample" project files.
